The role and seniority change the timing, but the workflow stays steady. Whether the brief is a master bench jeweller or a head of retail, we follow the same process so nothing slips.
We come into the kickoff ready. If it is a bench role, we already know the difference between platinum and 18ct, mounting and finishing, hand-pierced and CAM-cast. If it is retail, we know the difference between clientelling on a £500 piece and a £50,000 piece. If it is buying, we know OTB, AUR and markdown discipline. We will not waste your call asking the basics.
Every shortlist is calibrated against current UK trade base, commission and bonus data, segmented by region (Central London / Greater London & South East / Midlands / North / Scotland / Wales / Northern Ireland) and seniority. For retail, realistic on-target commission is benchmarked separately. Light bands get flagged before sourcing.
Three to six candidates per brief, properly vetted, with our written notes on craft fit, qualifications (FGA, DGA, BHI, WOSTEP, GIA-GG), portfolio evidence for bench and design, clientelling track record for retail, right-to-work status, current location and notice period. Right-to-work, references and current comp are confirmed before introduction. We rank, we do not just send.
We coordinate bench trade tests, store visits and panel interviews, manage candidate feedback between rounds, handle counter-offer pressure, and structure the offer. Background-check and reference logistics on us. We check in on day 7, 30 and 90. If the placement does not stick within the agreed window, our replacement guarantee kicks in.
Acute clinical, regulated financial services compliance leadership and pure non-trade operations sit best with sector specialists. We will say so within one call and, where useful, point you to a partner agency.
